MULTICOLORED HOLIDAY
It has become a good tradition to celebrate the country's main national holiday by commissioning new social and economic facilities. The 26th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence was no exception.
On the eve of the holiday, 18 high-rise buildings, a school for 600 children, a kindergarten and shopping centers were ceremonially put into operation in Ashgabat. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the opening ceremony of the complex of facilities.
New houses were built in the south-western part of the city as part of the fifteenth stage of development of Ashgabat. Twelve 12-storey 72-apartment and six 12-storey 48-apartment residential buildings have all conditions for comfortable living. Three and four-room apartments with the full range of amenities include spacious living rooms, cozy bedrooms, kitchens equipped with modern appliances, balconies and utility rooms. There are also an underground parking and all necessary life support systems for each house.
The adjoining territories have been fully landscaped. Great consideration has been given to the functionality of new buildings, ecological and aesthetic aspects. The layout and landscaping of recreation zones are well-thought-out. There are also facilities for social events. A new park along the new buildings appeared in this part of the city. It was built using modern technologies of landscape design.
During the opening ceremony, the head of state viewed one of the apartments at the invitation of the new tenants and visited one of the shopping centers.
The festive day started with an official flower laying ceremony at the Independence Monument. Thousands of residents and guests of Ashgabat, who gathered at the Independence Monument, greeted the head of state.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov laid flowers at the memorial plaque in front of the entrance to the memorial complex. After the head of state, wreaths and bouquets of flowers were laid by the government members, heads of the Mejlis, military and law enforcement agencies. They were followed by Turkmenistan's diplomats and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, political parties and public associations, ministries and departments, honorable elders, student youth, numerous residents of the capital city.
Foreign guests visiting Ashgabat to attend festive celebrations also paid tribute of deep respect to the memorial sites of the Turkmen people.
The main events of the day took place in the square of festive ceremonies, including a military parade and a festive procession of citizens of the country in celebration of the 26th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, members of the government of Turkmenistan and foreign guests attended the celebration.
The military units of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of National Security, the State Border Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan took part in the parade. The military personnel of the country's law enforcement structures confirmed their readiness to stand guard over the peaceful creative work of neutral Turkmenistan.
The military parade was followed by the festive procession of representatives of the regions of Turkmenistan and labor collectives representing various branches of the national economy. The delegates from five regions of the country, workers of various departments and industries, a column of sportsmen and workers of culture, children's art groups walked past the guest stands.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the people of Turkmenistan on the 26th anniversary of the country's independence. In his congratulatory message, the head of state noted that independence demonstrated to the whole world the unity and solidarity, great dignity, patriotism, peacefulness and friendliness of the people of Turkmenistan.
The economic and socio-cultural development of the country makes it possible to successfully implement the large-scale programs of socio-economic, cultural, educational, socio-political reforms. Modern districts, cities and villages with luxury residential houses, secondary and higher education establishments, kindergartens, medical centers, large industrial and social facilities have been built in the country.
Turkmenistan is steadily building up its reputation as a state pursuing a policy of positive neutrality, peacefulness and good-neighborliness. This policy aims to consolidate efforts to achieve global peace and harmony, prosperity and sustainable development, the presidential message said.
The festive horseracing took place at the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Center in honor of the 26th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan. By tradition, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Complex on this festive day. The Akhal-Teke horses demonstrated their speed at various distances in seven races, 12 horses per race.
Riders were awarded cash prizes provided by the branches of the national economy of Turkmenistan. Winners received cash prizes at the awarding ceremony. Winners of the first six races received 15 thousand US dollars, and the winner of the final seventh race was awarded 30 thousand US dollars on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.
Large-scale celebrations, concerts, various cultural and sport events marking the Independence Day of Turkmenistan were held in all regions of the country.
A great show celebrating the main holiday of the country took place at the central stadium of the multifunctional sports complex "Ashgabat".
This lively colorful action involving hundreds of athletes, dancers and musicians was one of the most impressive events of the day. It was followed by the literary-musical composition reflecting the depth of patriotic feelings and the pride of the people of their beloved homeland. The choreographic composition was performed by the artists from all regions of Turkmenistan, who recreated the cheerful mood of the Turkmen celebration. The best art ensembles succeeded each other in the action, demonstrating original and colorful dances, presenting the ongoing transformations in the country in the language of art.
The action participants finished the composition spectacularly by rolling out a multi-color map of the country on the stadium field. The performance culminated in the ritual dance Kushtdepdi, reflecting the symbiosis of the historical and cultural traditions and spiritual experience of the nation.
A festive concert traditionally marks all major social and political events in the life of the country. This time, the best artists of the country greeted the guests of the holiday under the arches of the Ashgabat Conference Palace.
The festive concert presented the power of modern Turkmen art, the variety of its styles and genres. The leading idea of the concert was to convey the high creative spirit of time and show the continuity of the best traditions of national culture through the artistic glorification of independent Motherland.
The concert program featured the best compositions of national and foreign song-music classics, the destans and modern works, original vocal and choreographic compositions. The ethnographic performances recreating centuries-old customs and traditions of the Turkmen people organically blended into the festive concert.
The music of classical films was a distinctive feature of the concert. The masters of Turkmen art performed with inspiration the songs from the films such as "Sostyazaniye", "Reshayuschiy Shag", "Khistrost' Starogo Ashira", "Dalekaya Nevesta", "Tayny Mukama", "Moy Drug Melegush", "Kechpelek", "Shasanem i Garib" and other retro films that make up the "gold fund" of the national cultural heritage.
Another concert in honor of the Independence Day was held in the evening of the same day in the square in front of the cultural and entertainment center "lem", bringing together many residents and guests of the capital. Pop stars, master and young variety soloists, folklore and dance ensembles, choral groups participated in the musical show. Composers and poets dedicated new songs to this holiday that were performed during the concert. The artists also performed popular contemporary lyric and patriotic compositions.
The concert ended with festive fireworks that lit the evening sky with sparkling bouquets of bright lights in the grand finale of the cheerful multicolored holiday.
