Ashgabat traditionally hosts an international textile exhibition marking the Day of Textile Industry Workers. Being part of the forum titled "Turkmen Textile - 2017", this exhibition was set up at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. It deservedly attracted attention of thousands of visitors. A large-scale show was designed to demonstrate the achievements of the national light industry. At the same time, it became a platform for exhibiting modern technologies and current trends in the world textile industry.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent a welcoming message to the forum participants.
- The specialized exhibition aims to demonstrate the great achievements of the domestic textile industry to the Turkmen people and the international community, the presidential message reads. - The further development of the industry and all branches of the national economy through introduction of the latest achievements of science and efficient innovative technologies is one of the important tasks. In this regard, greater international cooperation should play an important role. The current specialized show is designed to once again demonstrate the economic potential of our country to the international community.
In his message, the head of state stressed that the international exhibition was timed to the Day of Textile Industry Workers, which is particularly important in the context of exposing foreign partners to the achievements of one of the largest sectors of the country's economy. In addition, this exhibition is an efficient platform for exchange of views between producers of goods and services - representatives of plants, private entrepreneurs - on a wide range of issues of mutual interest for the joint search for solutions and development of cooperation.
The exhibition was held in the year of the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat. That is why the topic of the Asian Games - 2017 dominated in the ideological-semantic sense in decorations of the exhibition stands. The colorful textile exhibition provided an excellent opportunity for the international community to get acquaintance with the large-scale preparations for the world sport festival.
Ashgabat received with traditional Turkmen hospitality the delegations from many countries of Europe and Asia, including managers and specialists of large manufacturers and trading companies from Russia, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, China, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, CIS countries.
Among the participants of the exhibition were the Turkish companies, who are Turkmenistan's traditional partners with an extensive experience of productive cooperation in the field of construction of textile facilities. Manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech equipment and materials in the field of cotton spinning, weaving and dyeing from Belgium, Germany and Austria present annually new technologies and design solutions, taking into account the specifics of the work and requirements of Turkmen enterprises.
The prestige of the textile forum in Ashgabat was also confirmed by the famous masters of the fashion industry, such as Valentin Yudashkin, a Russian couturier of world renown, who on many occasions demonstrated his new collections to the Turkmen public, as well as Julia Latushkina and Lyudmila Labkova, young designers from Belarus.
The opening ceremony was attended by government officials, heads of ministries and departments, public associations, heads of the diplomatic missions accredited in the country and foreign businessmen operating in Turkmenistan, mass media representatives. Among the guests of honor were the best workers of the textile industry of Turkmenistan.
The large-scale exhibition featured a wide range of products. The colorful and original stands displayed all the trends of textile manufacturing: from production of certified cotton yarn and silk to finished products, keeping abreast with modern designs, aesthetics and fashion solutions.
The stands of the largest enterprises of the country dazzled visitors with the samples of yarn and fabrics, jeans and knitwear, men's shirts, home textiles, a lot of bed linen, bath sets, products of terry cloth, as well as hosiery, medical and cosmetic cotton.
There were exhibited a variety of new products with images of the symbols of the Asian Games-2017. A big pavilion displayed suits for Turkmen sportsmen for each of 21 sports of the V Asian Games. Turkmen textile workers successfully fulfilled the government order for designing and producing the suits for representatives of the National Olympic Committee, standard-bearers, as well as special outfit for the volunteer corps and technical personnel. These clothes were made of natural cotton fabrics manufactured by the largest textile enterprises of Turkmenistan.
The traditional festive show, i.e. the demonstration of new collections of stylish clothes by Turkmen designers and foreign guests, turned into the colorful parade of the unique works of art of high fashion.
The clothes by the Ashgabat Fashion House designers are known far beyond the borders of the country. Their products have repeatedly been well-received by discerning professionals at fashion shows abroad. The Ashgabat designers did their best this time too. A special emphasis was placed on the original children's knitwear for leisure and sports.
It was for the first time that fashion designer Ludmila Labkova presented in Ashgabat her new collection "Summer 2018" of knit dresses and suits made of Belarusian flax and fabrics mixed with Turkmen cotton. Her clothes for mothers and daughters, made in sustained style and decorated with hand-made embroideries, were greeted with a storm of applause. Another Belarusian designer, Julia Latushkina, demonstrated magnificent evening multi-layer silk dresses decorated with beads and Swarovski crystals.
The demonstration of the Valentin Yudashkin Fashion House collection, known for the famous master's refined style, was the final impressive chord of the fashion parade. Thanking the enthusiastic audience for the hearty welcome, the famous couturier expressed his special gratitude to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for supporting the development of the national light industry, whose impressive achievements were clearly proved by the international textile exhibition.
As part of the exhibition, the best industry workers were awarded diplomas and valuable gifts in a festive ceremony on behalf of the head of state.
