WHOSE CROP IS RICHER?
The scale and diversity of thematic sections of the International Exhibition "Golden Autumn" was impressive. More than 2,000 companies and organizations from 24 countries demonstrated their achievements, using several pavilions and outdoor areas of the VDNKh (Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy). Russia was represented by 55 regions. More than 700 thousand people visited the exhibition. The main agricultural event of the crops season was covered by more than 500 accredited journalists from Russia, CIS and non-CIS countries.
The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Nikolai Fyodorov and other officials.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dmitry Medvedev stressed the importance of "Golden Autumn" and excellent organization of the exhibition. "I am pleased to open agricultural exhibition" Golden Autumn"in such conditions. Agriculture is one of the key sectors of our economy. Now, all of us, including Russian producers, have a chance to expand our presence in the food market. I would like to assure you all that our policy of food imports substitution is not a momentary impulse, but a clear and strategic position of the government. We will continue developing our rural areas, our agricultural sector, because Russia has always been and will surely be one of the leading agricultural countries of the world,"the Prime Minister said in his welcoming speech.
Following the opening ceremony, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Agriculture Minister Nikolai Fyodorov viewed the expositions of the participating countries. The exhibition "Golden Autumn" is not only a demonstration of the achievements of local farmers, but also a good platform for negotiations with the heads of agrarian structures of foreign countries.
The business program of "Golden Autumn" enabled the industry professionals, agribusiness representatives and investors to quickly get a broad overview of the agricultural market, find technological solutions that are the most effective for production of agricultural products, obtain relevant information on their application in practice.
The thematic conferences, seminars and round tables discussed a wide range of issues to ensure competitiveness of agricultural products, use of land resources in terms of environmental and economic efficiency, prospects of Russia's cooperation with the countries of CIS and foreign countries in production of innovative technologies in the field of agriculture, as well as other important issues. In total, more than 50 events were held within the framework of the exhibition's business program, attended by more than 10,000 professionals.
It was for the second year in a row that Turkmenistan presented a large-scale exposition as part of Moscow's "Golden Autumn." The national stand of Turkmenistan demonstrated products of the processing industries of agriculture, as well as fisheries and wine industry.
Visitors viewed with great attention the diversity of products by enterprises of the State Association of Food Industry of Turkmenistan that presented a great variety of gifts from the Turkmen land and products of their processing. The guests of the Turkmen exposition had the opportunity to taste the incomparable Turkmen melons and watermelons, as well as a number of products manufactured on the basis of melons.
High quality and environmental friendliness are the undoubted advantage of the Turkmen food industry that helps open up favorable export prospects. The production of the food industry of Turkmenistan received a number of prestigious international awards, Turkmen wines in particular. The secret to success lies in the work of technologists, professionals and especially in the Turkmen sun that makes it possible to have special quality raw materials.
Visitors were also greatly interested in canned fish products presented by the State Committee for Fisheries of Turkmenistan. In general, the exposition of Turkmenistan at the prestigious international exhibition confirmed the firmness and validity of intentions of the Turkmen food industry to expand the prospects of export of its own products.
